The forecast is looking good for next weekend. My friend, who has never fished from a kayak (she's only fished once) is coming with me, so I want as easy a launch as possible. How is Stillwater? Does it live up to its name on a good day?

Company welcome. I plan on grabbing some abs too if the viz doesn't suck...

Stillwater is an easy launch but the ab population leaves something to be desired. FT. Ross is an easy launch also and you have a good variety of spots to dive for abalone. If is flat, flat, flat, I would dive around the other side of the north point at the fort.

Thanks for the tip...I may or may not ab dive anyway, as my friend won't be diving with me.
If anyone else is gonna be up that way, lemme know.

Stillwater you have to cart/carry your yak to the water for a bit. FT Ross drive right to the beach and cross, but you have to drive back up the hill and walk back down. Unloading only, same for still water. They are both easy paddles out tho.
