If you only had tomorrow to try and catch a smallmouth bass pushing, say, 20 inches... ...where would you go?
I think I'd go to Mendo because I know they're there and it's near to me.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Sonoma main part of the lake off the western points in 20/30' of water.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Nice Fish how long ago??

It was a while ago, like 1996. Caught on a crawdad just outside the marina at Spanish Flat. My dad and I got into a school of fatties and C+R about 25 nice-sized fish. We kept a few, including the big mama (actually turned out to be a male). But if I caught a big one like that today, I'd release it for sure. I still have a copy of the Lake Berryessa Newspaper with my picture in it.

I second the Trinity....long drive but I hear it's worth going to if you want a consistent catch of big small mouths....
