Looks like a few of us are going to give the Bean another go on Sat. Company always welcome and more interesting, come on down.
Yesterday (Wednesday) we met up with Fuzzy Tom and went off the beach just north of the lighthouse at Pigeon Point (3 miles south of the Bean) and the condition were near perfect, hoping for the same on Sat.

A ff is a really helpful tool, especially at the Bean, but you are certainly welcome to tag along. I have an area that I want to explore to the south and if the wind holds to it usual pattern could require a hard paddle back to the launch. Not trying to discourage you at all, just be willing to honestly appraise your experience/abilities to the conditions as we find them Sat. I'm making an assumption or two since you identified yourself as a newbie that may not be true regarding ocean/kayak skills, please do not be offended.

Hey Rocketman and Slowmo,
Bloodbath here. It's been almost a year since we last fished! Launch time? Parking? See you there!

2014 Lowrance Rockfish Classic 1st place
Kayaks are cool!

Yeah, I remember and as I recall PK showed up late and caught all the fish.
Anyway, I plan I getting there at 6:45. Parking is a 1/4 mile north or so of the paved parking area on the shoulder. See you there.

Bean Hollow is 3 miles north of pigeon point lighthouse: there is a paved parking area/gated, we usually park along the road about an 1/8 of a mile north of that. I plan to be there at 6:45 and I drive a white ford van with a kayak trailer. No worries you will find us, see you there.
