Chris (MBYakker) and I hit the Cape early yesterday, and it was anything but easy.  The fog was thick, the swell was up and messy making us both feel the quease, and the water quality was crap even a mile offshore.  We had an excellent time - further reinforcement of the truth that is NCKA quality.  We only caught a few blacks apiece and Chris also brought in a nice copper.  We were running big lead and expensive rubber in hopes of attracting lingzilla out of her cave, but it wasn't happening.  A couple beers in the tidepools and we got back over the hill before noon.  Chris and girlfriend cruised off to Napa and I took the kids and my step-mother up hiway 36 to my brother's property in the hills.  Finished the day off right with a cold brew and some hot and juicy rockfish in 95 degree heat and forest shade.  Good Times.   :smt001

I'm heading to PA for some training this week - potential yak-fishing while there.   :smt001

Another Quality AbKing post.....

Thanks for sharing.  Excellent video from launch to consuptions to sunset.  I liked the slow motion with the splash on the release of the blue and the fast forward on the return paddle.  But my favorite was the cleaning station you set up in the rocks with a beer in hand a second one lined up and ready to go.

Eric, thanks for the report. Sorry about the lack of lings.

If you're going out at PA, try paddling out of Sea lion cove by the lighthouse...it's an awesome spot.  Also, Moat Creek has good access.

not your usuall BeastlyHookings, but one of pure love&joy! Way to get out in those less-than-desirable conditions inorder to love thy brother(fish with another NCKA member)
Good to see that MByaker lives! and thanks for the Vid&Port!

I didn't DIE I just moved to Orange County.  That's more like being in a coma on life support.  But, with periodic adventures up North with my old buddies from NCKA, I just might pull through.

Thank you for the video.  Will you be back in time for the Labor day weekend?  I'm planning to be in the cove that weekend.  It would be nice if we can hook up.  Got some Salmon and Hali for you.
