been on the board for awhile, but finally got my own yak, a tarpon 160. i live in santa rosa and am hoping to find someone willing to show me some basic stuff, either mellow salt (bodega harbor? tomales?) or freshwater out on mendo or lake sonoma. im a total newbie to kayak fishing (but not fishing in general), so any help is appreciated. im hoping to get enough experience before rockfish season closes and maybe bag a ling or two at Salt Point.  thanks guys

Perry - There's a few of us in Santa Rosa and the area, so you should have no problems hooking up. Unfortunately I'm on injured reserve for at least another 2 - 3 weeks.  :smt010

In the meantime there's always good bluegill action up at Spring Lake. I know...blue gill...but they're a lot of fun on ultra lite tackle and it's a good way to get to know your boat while fishing. That's how rigging ideas will come to you.

BTW - are you the same Perry from the PFIC board?

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...
