Tomales

Yesterday was the most beautiful day on the water ever. Clear Sky, no wind until 2pm, no pb traffic, and water visibility was at least seven foot.  Definitely cool being able to see all the bait, rays, sharks and crab under the boat.  The only thing that sucked was the halibut never show up.  I used live bait, frozen bait, and artificial for nothing. 

Tomales bay can definetly be a cool place for all the reasons you mention,

Southside of Hog island (inside channel) and down pass Pelican point. 

Sometime I would like to go to Lawsons on an incoming and drift from the bar in. PM me if anyone thinks that sounds interesting. Craig

That sounds interesting.  I did hear on the radio of a boat landing 2 yesterday at the bar.  one 28" and the other 21".

I don't know where the hali's are, but my friend who lives at Lawson's made 7 long passes freediving the bar yesterday for zip.  It they were there he would have found a couple.  Hopefully soon.

Rockroach.............pretty cool to have it all to yourself.........Almost magical. We have been hoping to see the halibut show up there in bigger numbers as that would indicate the would be in Bodega Bay as well. The last few salmon seasons we would troll (PB) for the halibut on the way back to our slip at Lucas Wharf with real good success.

Any size to fish in Bodega? Ever have any luck along Doran Beach?

Yesterday was the most beautiful day on the water ever. Clear Sky, no wind until 2pm, no pb traffic, and water visibility was at least seven foot.

It was like that a few weeks ago when I went withShimmy and Kunz, but no flatties in any of the usual spots.  Hot in the bay, but kinda slow in Tomales so far. 

I am thinking about hitting ARW or the bay, that area seems to have all of the fish this year.

One thing I didn't mention was the amount of crabs out there eating my bait.  I reeled up at least seven dungeness. All looking close to legal.  The guys in the PB's were complaining about them too.  So if anybody goes out anytime soon try and using live bait.

I caught a dungi on my live jacksmelt last week.  I had better luck in the bay.  I'll post a report in a minute.
