Hi again,

The trees that we cut down to free up the Aspen grove need to be taken care of so that we can put up the fence around the Aspens. We need to limb them and then cut them into small enough logs that we can move around with a skidder.

As you can imagine, needing to clear about 35 trees, we are going to need a bunch of help. We need people to wield chainsaws and we need people to load up the cut wood and move it out of the grove.

I know as well as anyone how high fuel prices are and how much it costs to drive any distance. I wish I had the funding to offer to help on your gas but I still have not found that special source of funding. So, what I can offer is all of the firewood you want. We are going to be cutting these trees up and there will be many cords of firewood produced in the process. Plus we have many other Junipers on the ground in other parts of the property. There is also a lot of Mountain Mahogany trees that can be harvested for firewood.

As usual, camping, friendship and good food will be provided.

We would like to get this accomplished by the end of August so that Tim can come in with his skidder at the beginning of September and move the logs. So, we are looking at the weekend of August 23,24.

Please look at your calendar and see if you can squeeze this one into your schedule. We really need to get these trees moved so that we can erect the fence around the Aspens. This was one of last year's DFG projects that is behind schedule.

Sorry to be a pest but I really need to drum up some help for the weekend of August 23. So far, Phillip is a for sure, Kat, Paul and Peggy are maybes and Bob is a maybe with two other maybes he is trying to recruit.

I really need to get these trees limbed and pulled out of the Aspen grove so that I can finish the fence. The fence was part of last year's agreement with DFG. I need to get it done so that I can start on this year's projects.

I will provide meals and soft drinks. We have eight bunk beds to use plus we can set up a tent if needed. As I stated before, bring a trailer along with you and take home as much firewood as you can.

I am going to be there late Friday night and will be staying until Tuesday afternoon.

I am taking my Prowler and a couple poles so I can spend a couple early mornings chasing Eagle Lake trout.

Big Dog, I may be able to assist. Dragging the yak along and getting in some fish time would be a bonus. I think I can track down a flatbed to haul some wood out. Where is the Aspen grove located? I am in SJ, so any details would be appreciated.

Let's chat. With my busy family life, I can't commit 100% unless i know all the details and can convince the other half of the value. She does like a fire in the winter!

The project is about 11 miles north of Eagle Lake. I will be driving up the night of the 22nd. I usually pull into camp around 1 AM. For anyone coming up, I will send them an email with exact directions and the combo to the gate.

I will have a couple extra chainsaws there. Flatbed, trailer, whatever you have, bring it up. We have around 30 trees that we need to limb. So, there will be lots of firewood to haul away. We also have a bunch of pre-cut rounds that you could load up.

As for catching a few fish, you can drive out the gate, go south about 12 miles, pull off the highway and launch the yak. Most of the east side of Eagle Lake is accessible from the road. The fish reports say that the fish are on the bite. They always are in the fall.
