Harbor launch about 10 am.  Eight pb's  over in the area of the buoy east of the mile marker, where most were.
I was going to fish the reef in front of the lighthouse and then head west at first wind and take a long drift back to harbor, but the wind came up at 10:30 so I was stuck fishing the east light house kelp instead.
Got four tail hits on the fish trap and/or storm sardine , but no hali. They snap like small dogs , I guess. It's amazing that with their eyes so close together, they can be so accurate.
Caught a nice gopher and a small china for a dinner as good as any downtown ,(main ingredientwise, not chefwise).
Surfers were having a great day at steamers. Otters were kickinback.

I fished it on Monday also.  Fished north of the mile bouy off th boardwalk to capitola to New brighton for a ton of mackeral and jacksmelt but nothing flat or toothy.  Wind came up early and made it difficult to drift.  I didn't have my drift sock.  I won't forget that again.  Talked to a couple of guys who boated hali's around 13 and 14 lbs but it seemed pretty slow.
