Good evening,

Shicken and I decide to hit up BH.  Conditions looked great.  Almost ZERO wind.  The launch area looked very forgiving.  The reason it looked forgiving was because looking is all we could do.

The headgasket of my crazy truck decided to give up and it overheated just as we pulled up to BH.  We caught something alright...a ride back home courtesy of the Mrs. and AAA.

If anyone driving from or through the San Mateo area is go yakfishing, PM me.  I'm open to sharing fuel cost.  Must fix crazy truck.  Must fish yak.  Must fix crazy truck.  Must fish yak.

The Crazy Red Truck looks like it can be fixed.  I pulled the cylinder head off and didn't notice any cracks.  Sending the head to get resurfaced.  Depending on the arrival of parts, it should be running by next week at the latest.  Can't wait to go fishing again...it's an addiction.  No saucy fish pictures, but here are some gearhead photos.

Weather permitting I'll probably be heading that way this weekend, as a last chance practice for those infamous Elk surf landings and hikes.  I have room for an extra yak or two if you don't have your truck fixed by then.

Mike-

Sorry to hear about the UAV (Urban Assault Vehicle) but looks like you'll have it back in action in no time.

I'm up for some ocean action and have more time on my hands than cash at the moment, although probably not for long - the recruiters are calling. I'm sure I can get another yak on top of the Tacoma; could get a few of 'em if Shicken wants do another rack project!  :smt002

PM if you wanna get out before the truck is fixed.

Good morning,

Thanks for the kind offers to piggyback with you guys.  I do really appreciate it.  The parts are in route.  Almost getting desperate enough to strap the kayak onto my Miata.  It must be the chemicals and fumes getting to me.  As the week's weather unfolds I'll be PM'ing you guys!  Crossing fingers for good weather and a speedy truck recovery.
