Started in the harbor late morning, plenty of bait there , lots of  birds and seals. Fished out front in 40 feet for four rockfish. Two browns and two what looked like hybrid gopher/brown? Pink ,anyway. Talked to some pb's who said everyone trying for halibut were getting rockfish instead ,and this over sand. One guy had caught about 15.
Got to spend some time with ganoderma out there, hoped it would change my luck , but didn't happen.  Ever notice that when you paddle over to talk with somebody you're hook up ratio increases. Maybe it just seems that way.
The wind died down nicely about 5 pm but I was off the water.

Good to meet you out there Casey.  It was pretty fishy out there with all the bait balls. Kind of weird that everybody was getting RF over sand.  I think the halibut bite will start picking up again when we have a calm stretch with low swell.
