to echo jim, rod wasn't the prob--cover your ears Alan Tani! - my failure to clean it after a dunking the night before was the issue. THe first few runs out of the surf were smooth, but some grit must have worked its way in as it started getting pretty jerky.
Went ahead and did the maintenance, and "tested" it this afternoon on a local hallie- works perfectly.

was definitely a kick to see a big comb slashing your bait-- then here that reel screaming...can't wait till next year.

ChuckE-- i got your bait tank waiting for ya....

Thanks all!  Great to hear the support....

Fishunter-- it was just a long fight-- though i'll admit that it was unnerving getting dragged in shallow, and the drag was a pain-- though not as bad for me as i am sure it looked to Jim and Alonzo on the boat!

Hello,
I saw this report when it was first posted on here and I wanted to show the pics by sending a link to this thread to a rooster flyfishing buddy of mine but he has been up in Montana the last month so he couldn't see them. he's back now and I would like to email him a link to this thread and let him see these awesome pics of roosters but the pics don't seem to be here any more. just the titles and descriptions of the pics but NO PICS!!!??????
What happened to the pics? Can a mod fix this? Any chance of getting the pics back up?

Thanks in advance.....

The photos are all there as far as I can see. We did have a server issue on my site yesterday so if you looked then that may have been the issue.
If you still can't see them you can see these and other shots on my photo gallery.

Steve... pics and trip of a lifetime. Absolutely love the one w/ the fish in the water under the yak. I'm guessing that one is in a frame on the wall already huh? :smt002
