Heading up to Tahoe tomorrow night, going to fish on Friday morning and then have a bachelor party for a buddy of mine the rest of the weekend.  :smt044

Have no clue where to launch and fish, but if anyone is interested I will be staying in South Shore, somewhere (haven't booked a hotel for Thursday night yet).  Any suggestions would be appreciated on the launch, and if anyone knows of a place to buy bait when I get up there tomorrow night.

Might go out again on Sunday, depending on the level of drunkenness the night before.  Or may head to Reno to visit Cabelas before heading back home.

Cheers!

Now that sounds like an awesome trip - fishing and a bachelor party!  What else could one want in a weekend.  Have fun Al!

Al, get a minnow trap and place some smashed up bread in it. Set it down on some rocks in the area and wait for about 10 min. You will get bait. I have heard that the best area is out of the Cave rock area. Go out to deeper water and see what happens. I plan on being up there in Aug and I too, will be trying for the first time with a yak for the fish. A good place for info is either at the Sportsman store or check in with the sports department guy at the Longs Store. He is the local man around there. Hope this helps. And make sure to let us know how things go.

Hey, thanks Rory!  I was looking up launches, and did hear that Cave Rock is decent for fishing.  I am a little confused on the directions, but says 4 miles north of Zepher Cove, with a huge rock formation and signs.  Guess that wont be too hard to find.

While looking at that though, I noticed its on the NV side of the lake.  Does that require a NV fishing license, or are the lenient on that?  If I do need a Lic, do they have them at the Sportsman store, or do I need to hit up a marina in the morning or something?

Well, Tote clued me into the fishing lic. not being a big deal, so no worries there.

Just found out that a couple of the other guys going to the party are also bringing their yacks!  (JohnHog and Tim) :smt044  So now its probably gonna be fishing Friday through Sunday now!  Providing the usual disclosures for alcohol induced lack of fishing... :smt003
