Looking for some pics of home made storage racks , at home, for yaks. I have an idea, but know there are a lot of folks with more talent and experience than I.

On the trailer. That way I can easily move them in and out of the shop as I need.

I have been storing mine on cardboard boxes, dented inward to cradle my kayak...  :smt009 Yeah, kinda sad, but it has worked out fine.  Ordered a pulley system from Cabelas that I am going to install soon though, so I can keep it up high and just drop down onto my car when ready to go. :smt004

I use shelf track with 2x4 extensions.  Works great and cheap...

That is more like what I had in mind, but on the side of the house; covered of course. Which ever one I use I will need some of that "inspiration" :smt002

These are "gorilla racks" which were originally for a surfboard but they work fine for the yak. Basically just bent steel emt conduit, like for running electrical wiring in, with pipe insulation slid over it. Secured to the wall studs with lag bolts.   jim/redyak

You can go to any general hardware store and get these ladder racks that are very inexpensive. Find the studs in your walls and voila. These ladder racks even have small foam pads on them.

I used the ladder racks and just put some pipe insulation on them for extra padding.  They work really well.  I also put an eye bolt above and below to secure a strap around the kayak, while it is in the rack.
