I was stunned myself, that is an insanely low number.  Me and mahi looked long and hard and never even found a decent place to eat.

EVERY time I'm in Crescent City and due for a meal I stop at Los Compadres Mexican Restaurant just north and across 101 from the harbor.  Get a chicken soft taco with guac - the hot salsa comes on the side - pour it all on.  I just had that exact dish last Thursday afternoon. 

I have family that has a summer place near smith river. Two years ago we were up there for 4th of July week. Crescent city put on the best fireworks show I've ever seen. FYI
But I would prefer to live around Brookings OR. Its a lot like Santa Cruz before UCSC days.
