After following the lake sonoma threads recently, 3 generations of Sereni's headed out to see what they could do at the lake.  Final count 1 steelhead-long line released by Jr.  My dad and daughter and I headed out to Lake Sonoma today at about noon to take a little boat ride.  We ended up hooking 1 steelhead at 50 ft. in about 200 ft of water on a rattletrap.  We were a couple hundred yards up the dry creek arm off the dam.  I played the fish for a couple of minutes and then lost it in an acrobatic head shake just behind the boat. We had a really nice day on the lake but would love to learn more about catching steelhead there.  Fun times were had by all. Wind was up a little but the lake was fairly nice all day.

What cool way to spend the day with your dad and daughter.  Those Sonoma steelhead are little firecrackers.

Thanks for the report Dave.  My 11 year old and I will be doing some camping up in Cherry Creek after the weekend, Sonoma is a very cool lake.  Maybe we can tie into some of those fiesty landlocked steelies too.....
