Fished for rockies out of Davenport yesterday.  Launched around 0800 and fished till noon.  Went south about a mile (out from old pier pilings).  Fished in about 30 - 50 ft of water.  It was REAL SLOW, got a couple of bites and one Gopher cod. Very nice day, easy launch and return.

I saw lots of seal lions (maybe a hundred through the day, one to four at a time), they were moving north.

Thanks for the report. Golly, at some point it has to turn on out there!

I used to drive by Davenport alot back in the early 90's on my way to Franklin and Pigeon Points for diving and fishing from the rocks.  I'd love to see some photos of the launch/cove/old pilings, as I never did go down to the shore there.

I also used to stop at Davenport on the way home and get a sandwich and other munchies from a cool woman who ran the deli at the store there.  Once I gave her an abalone because I appreciated her home-cooked-style food that I had been eating for quite a while.  A local gave me some grief for that, but I didn't accept it.   :smt001

Sounds like you had a nice day on the water - keep trying!
