Im in, last year was a blast, tho I concentrated on the lings too and caught nothing but skinny ones, saw a diver that had 3 30 plus lbers in the box, he said there were many on the bottom...a 14 lber won it.
Me and Mooch had fun terrorizing a racoon at Veterans campsite, we had tears streaming down our faces it was so funny! Great place to camp, no fires in camp but there's a community fire-pit for everyone. Ide be up for sharing a spot.
Whats the prize?? Trident 13???
Elk 2008 Winner

I DO remember last year's winner was paddling an old OK Drifter.

Whoo-hoo, my names on the trophy for 2008.

This may sound dozy but, errr, how exactly does one register?

I tried the email address earlier in the thread and got no response. There's no link I can find on the the MBK site.......?

Allen,Yea im excited, but about a week ago i phoned MBK about "day of registration" and the lady answering (after asking someone els) said no. Furthermore, she also said no to mail payment by check or money order. Only the Mark of the Beast (plastic). would do. :smt009
Somehow i got the feeling she herself was not sure. Seems Hightide got a completely different story. I like his better. Clarification would be good.

OK, I just talked to Cass, the Owner at MBK.

she says they will accept registration "all three ways."  By card on the phone, by mail with a check, and on the morning of cash, check, or charge.

The question about renting kayaks to fish the derby she is checking on, but she is supportive of that idea as well.

Only 10 sign-ups so far, so the odds of winning a brand new Yak are pretty good at this point.  Hope to see lots more sign ups before the 17th.....

All for now, I'm out.

Allen

Thanks Allen,
That was quick...now I know it's for a good cause but it sure would be nice to have only 10 or 12 yakkers vying for a 13 footer ...come to think of it, the more the merrier
