Crystal Basin!! I would do Union Valley, Loon Lake, Gerle Creek Res. and Icehouse.
They are getting into the browns at Gerle Creek Res right now.
You can launch from the west side of UV then paddle across the lake and just pitch a tent. The price is right.
Each lake is within such close proximity to each other that you certainly wouldn't get bored.

That sounds like a Great Adventure Mike I imagine with the price of gas those lakes won't get hit very hard this year.

I'd do my best to join you for a day of fishing at DV should this be the choice.

Sly Park ( Jenkinson ) WILL be hammered this year as it is the first lake up Hwy 50 from Sacto.

Hey Mooch!  :smt006

Yes, please do Del Valle - we will be camping there next weekend and I would love to fish with you! I make a mean macaroni salad to go with the fish too and we have cold beer!! :)

I will monitor CH 69. That would be great. We will be there Friday - Sunday

Kim
Love it!

Not going to land him with that - the Mooch doesn't do beer.  Maybe with the mean macaroni salad but definitely not the cold one.  Can't say that I blame him though cuz I can't stomach the stuff either. :smt008

With Angel Is. I think everything needs to line up for a good trip. ie. tides/weather. There are some serious wind and tides to contend with out there. I don't know enough about it to advise. Only observed it on many occations from the ferry and the occational opening day madness... Would be fun it it did line up tho... :smt001 Haven't heard from Mendo for a while, but I would think the topwater bite early and late has to be good this time of year. Maybe even a night sorte would be good... I'm still waiting for my first time at Salt Point this season. Every time the ocean lays down I gotta work... :smt011 But you can camp and launch there. Ocean Cove camp ground also, just a couple miles south. Both have good fish cleaning facilities too. Or spend the gas and hit Tahoe or Lake Almanor.
