I know a bunch of you use iron pipes or mini-baseball bats or sections of 2x4 to beat your halibut friends into silent submission.  Those little devils take some bashing to calm down and more than once I've had one wake up in my lap and start flapping and snapping!  Makes me worry when those savage jaws are too close to the tackle, if you know what I mean.

I guess people who fish for large catfish have the same issues!

So I submit to you this fine set of traditional Japanese prints of "Tanuki" or racoon dogs.  In particular, you should scroll down a bit to see the catfish print.  Notice how they beat the fish into submission?  I guess my worries are unnecessary!

There's also several illustrations of fun ways to net fish and related techniques... if you have the balls to attempt them!

So I had to look twice... thrice even, before it sank in... OMG, that is some serious SACK!

Great artwork, but I don't think I'll be trying that!
