Adam, I have a rod/reel you can borrow for a day trip.  Best froggin' time is later this summer, as Troutnut said.  I'll post up any special reports on the situation.  Right now it is slow even though the cheese mats are there.  A few more weeks yet, after a good week of 90-100 degree stuff.

Top water bite is good though.  Just some spinning gear is all you need.

U-da-man, Bryan!

Is it the same old slough where I met you early spring? I would like to try my popper flies soon. I am getting too excited!

Hey Bryan,
are you allowed to fish at night? I would think that would be the ticket!! Fish from shadow time till midnight or so. I keep meaning to spend a night over there.

I've never been a big fan of fishing in the dark...I have a hard enough time getting untangled in the sunlight!

Yes fishing at night is allowed.  Gotta have a light though.

TailWalk--Your fly poppers would work great.  Launch is the same, location is different.  Went south.

I've kayak fished there 2wice at night last year around Aug and Sept. Bass fishing wasn't any better than during the day. I used frog mostly but also used popper and buzz bait and caught a few fish and some small stripers. The thing with delta is you never know. It could just turn on and off in an instant. Water movement, temp, wind, etc... all have great effect.

I didn't try it but catfish fishing could be good I heard.

I would still try again though now that it's getting warmer. Just being out there is a great thing especially with good company.
