Pj I'm Sorry I missed you guys up at LK.  Hope you had a good day.

Loaded up Last night, woke up at 0430, left the house at 0445 got to Morro bay which is 25 miles from my house, I realized I forgot my License! :smt013,  So I turned around to go home home and get It.  With the price of Gas, the new launch spot was shell beach five minutes from my house.

Launched from the Stairs in shell beach to almost no swell and a light wind.  There is a lot of kelp but it is realyy shallow 20-28 ft. Paddled out to about 50 ft, which is 1.25 miles off shore.  found some reef patches, and started hooking up.  The Crazy thing is Every fish except one, that I caught to day were browns.  Ten total seven kept.  Caught My first legal ling of the season at 25".  Wasa stoked to get on the board after several short ones.  paddled two miles north and then back.    Best I've ever done righ t close to where I live.    Only a few Pics: Acouple Browns, and the final take.

Not too bad for so close to home. LK kicked out some serious fish today. Launch and landing piece of cake compared to last time.

I like browns, I think they taste good, fight hard, and when you catch one, you almost always will be catching a pile more.

the bread and butter santa cruz rockfish, when you can catch rockfish in santa cruz that is.

Way to go, Dogpound.  Thanks for the report and pics.

Forgetting stuff is such a common experience - probably for all of us.  I keep meaning to make up a tight gear list and laminate it...

Congrats on the ling.   :smt001

aawww, man that's a bit of a bummer but it sounds like you did great.  we were wondering what happened to you but we didn't wait too long.  you absolutely need your liscence @ LK the ranger gave us all the once over again.

i would imagine there's some good territory down around there, with all that shallow water what about halibut???

next trip up we'll make a gear list for everyone.
