Ahhhhh the smell of the Cap in the morning.  FLAT AND CALM! GLASSY SURF VERY VERY VERY SMALL!!! Windswell virtually nonexistent.  Warm weather, no complaints.

Had a steady stream of scraps & then the Bulls arrived.  21" Verm, 20" Verm & another Pig of  a Ling @ 31" & very fat feisty fish!!!  Fished in 40-70 FOW w/ a swimbait & squid tip.

The Verms fought pretty well as far as Verms go & the Ling took 3 impressive runs.  1st run was 15 yards across the bottom, 2nd straight down, 3rd run straight down again.  Actually took around 4-5 minutes to bring him up, as soon as he took some line he went on a the runs, probably thought he could fight his way back down!  He went for 3 or 4 death rolls in the boat, seems like all the fish were pretty fired up & Bullish for some reason.

Beautiful warm day.

Great report and pics, PJ.  I always love your velvety water shots - it's all corduroy up here!  Gotta love the rubber-coated bike hook gaff too!   :smt001

i have a pretty flexible schedule, working freelance & i live close to the water.  my business is www.rjadvertising.com (shameless pitch to anyone in marketing deptartments out there!) my work is due on deadline which isn't dependent on working 8-6.

That is what I was waiting to see.  I want to be along on the next trip.  Nice fish and photos.

It's like a friend of mine said, "there are those whose parents grew up during WWII & those who didn't". He used to have to take his stale bread & throw it out somewhere other than his house, so his parents wouldn't find it in the trash.

Don't live in Denmark, but I am a good part NORWEGIAN BABY!!!!  Maybe it's my mind that is stuck there.

The whole sea-faring, far-off subterfuge thing is in my blood!!!! :smt001 :smt001 :smt001 :smt001  That & I read a book called "The Ocean Almanac" too many times, it has a ton of stories about fishing days of ole.  Spaniards caught epic fishing for decades & kept it a secret, eventually someone followed them to the Flemmish Cap & Grand Banks.  Haven't found the Grand Banks yet but I think it's somewhere in the vicinity of the Bixby Bridge. :smt001 :smt001 :smt001
