i just got back from 2 days of guided sturgeon fishing on the columbia river.  wow, 1st day day, 3 people, 21 small sturgeon.  2nd day 5 people, 18 small sturgeon AND one at 8.5 feet, one at 9 feet, 400 lbs.  these are estimates from the guide, i don not really know, but they were MUCH bigger than me!

ben-i think the slot is 46"-60", we caught a couple in the slot and released them.
chuck-each fish took 20-30 minutes, 2-3 people hand off the rod to each other, in part to share, but really, without a harness we got real tired very quickly.
