You could not ask for a better day. Fun time with friends and a "BANG UP" job on the shore lunch. I had one on, brought up to the boat and lost him. I could see the barb of the hook, so I know her was not hooked very well. And here is the bad thing, "IT WAS A KEEPER" Oh well. Like I say the fun part is being on the water, and catching a fish is a bonus. The weather was better than the day before. Still hot, but the wind never came up. Everybody had a lot of pull downs. See some of the PB's catching. I think the majority of fish caught were the ones on the pier. We did get to watch a few PB's go through and catch the guys lines on the pier. That was kind of funny. Will let others tell their storys on what happen. The following pics are of the steep hill climb out and a great pic of the bay. Looking forward to getting together with all again.

Halibut are something else... they don't really fight too hard until they see you(and you lift their head out of the water). :smt002 You lose a couple, bad hookup or bad gaff job, then you want to catch one even more. :smt044 You finally get one onto the yak then it goes APESHIITE while you are trying to keep the snapping teeth from your crotch! :smt011 What a blast, and tasty too! :smt007

Looks like A cool spot, and bummer about the power boats catching pier guys lines!!!! Ive always hated that the have the whole ocean to deal with and always seem to get to close to shore anglers, anyway sorry about the lost fish at least you had some action.

Fishing was just that...........fishing.........not for lack of trying. Plenty of hits and misses while others landed a few shorties and a few lost at the kayak. Friday  was down right HOT weather wise with the wind and tide pushing us off the water in the early afternoon. Saturday was just about as hot but the wind never materialized so we stuck it out for the tide change hoping for a better bite but it just never showed.
What A GREAT group of anglers.........every time you turned around someone was helping you grab gear or help you pack-a-yak. Even better was the grub....I am nicknaming this part "Blazing saddles". Both days included an outstanding potluck which included man-dogs with chili, chips w/home made salsa, chili corn bread w/ "tracers",  ice cold watermelon, potato/mac salads, marinated bbq chicken, dutch oven chili (Allen "alshobieoutback" gotta post his recipe), and finished it all off with strawberry/grape shortcake with whip cream. Next time I am bringing a hammock as I was almost unable to move after the festivities.

I guess this is not so much of a "fish" report as it is a "fun" report!!

I fished here both friday and saturday. Friday I hooked a keeper on my first drift/shiner, and it came off as soon as I saw it and it went balistic. I also landed a big leopard shark. That was way cool and exciting. I thought I had a grandpappy halibut. I had a couple other nice grabs that didn't materialize into a hookup. Saturday I was pumped but didn't get a hit all day.
I didn't get sick at all, and I was worried too, sewage stories and all. I didn't see a single cornback eel.
Good hanging with the kayaking brethren. Thanks to all the food effort. You know who you are.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Fished Paradice Friday,

I rode the incoming then trolled... then fought the outgoing and the wind to get back to the launch.

No fish, but what a great time! I got to meet Otobepelagic, Jason, Danglin, Guitarzan and the rest of the crew for the first time while reuniting with Mako1, Fishunter and Rory again.

Thanks to everyone who attended for a great time. As you can see from the pics, we had a feast after our six hour cruise....Chili Cornbread w/ tracers....Mmmmm.

Thanks for setting things up Adam. I'm looking forward to trying it again.

Slammer.

pic1&2~ couldn't find anything in the shallow to 15' fow, so I followed Juan out to bigger waters and he got a hit&hook....another underButt'

pic3&4~ then my vote for "Dick O'the Day" we are in group and this A$$-Whole spilts right between us....see Juan on the otherside, Allen was closer than that to the boat.....and Rory had to power-paddle, just to give the 'Dick" a little more room to go through.......15min. later and he tried it again....but we "held our ground" and he had to turn his wheel some to the left this time. :smt044

Great reporting all around.  That looks like Good Times for sure.  NCKA hookups are like the feel-good part of an adventure movie!
