Last year a post was up for at least three months before rockfish season even opened for Epic Rockfish Weekend.  John the fisherman instigated the whole thing and while only 4 of us showed up, we killed them.  Scott (GreatBass2) and  have been talking about hitting Lime Kiln May 10 for a repeat.  The gate opens at 7: Conditions willing company welcome.

I really want to do Limekiln this year, but my wife has to work this weekend and I will be babysitting.  So next time I will be up for it.

I'm in and can carpool. Let me know if anyone wants to have a shore lunch and I will bring some man dogs. I think we can have a tailgate at the day use area or on the beach. It was truly epic last year. Will try to not go for a swim this year.  :smt005

I had 2 campsites at Limekiln for the 1st wknd of May last year. But the swells were like 8-12 w/some S swell mixed in. So we didn't even bring the yaks. But did see 2 guys launch a zodiac and head north.
I'm donw. Unless the WX turns to crap.

What weather site are you checking for conditions at Limekiln? I may be in but I have a family deal at 6pm so I would have to check out by noon.  :smt004

I  use the NOAA site.

It's worsened a little bit with an additional 2ft south swell. We'll see how it goes as the week goes along.

Yeah. 7-9ft NW + 2 ft south swells =  trouble especially in that area.
I'm going to wait and see how it'll turn out.

I'm out. Planning to roll with 2 'sorta newbies' on Sat. And it isn't the best place for a first-timer.
Good luck guys!

EDIT: The WX forecast has improved dramatically as of 5/7 10pm.

That does sound too big for down there.  If conditions are too bad when we get closer in time, we can always alter the plan and not drive so far south.

I'm going to plan a camping trip there with the family when the kids get out of school June 12. Don't feel like launching out of there alone.
