Now that was a way to spend a work day. I did a round trip all to way down to Carmel point for one olive and a shaker ling. Then back up the otherside of the pinnacles, about 2 miles. I drug Monster Guppy and Fishmaster for a while and the looked back and they were gone. I ended up by Sin Coast to view his moster ling. Thanks for the hand out Patrick! Fish Master and Monster Guppy are the guys to go fishing with, awesome BBQ. I ended up with 6+- rock fish, one nice verm which was donated to the BBQ for fish tacos. Can't wait to do it again.

Well, I have been pretty much passed out since I got home around 4PM, just now getting to the report..

With next to no sleep I got up at 4, made a cup of coffee, dressed up and headed out.  Plan was to get some food somewhere along the way, but didn't happen.  Arrived around 5:40am, Monster Guppy and FishMaster were there, and said that someone else just launched before day break.  MG was kind enough to help me down (and back up) to the water.  Got all loaded up, and headed out trying to catch the rest of the fleet.  Couldn't get my GPS to display where I was, and fussed with it on the water till I could see my relations to the closed Pinnacles.  Got a little sick doing that...

So finally started fishing, north of the Pinnacles and caught a underling.  Kept at it for a while, hearing SinCoast blabbling on about how many lings he is catchin, but decided to call it quits when then wind really kicked up and the swells had chop on them.  While heading back to base, stopped by the kelp and tried like hell to pull up a RF, but only had one chassing my swimbait and it wouldn't take it all in.

Headed back to camp, for an AWESOME BBQ put on by the FishMaster.  We drank beer, had food, and relished the day of fishing, giving props to all that gave it a go out there.  It was slow, but still not bad from the rest of the reports I have heard.  After I hit home, I was dead, out till this morning.  Which is why im not fishing right now :smt012.

btw, this report took over two hours to complete, due to lack of image processing skills

Uh huh!  You guys rocked it.  PK - way to go on the big ling!  That was cool to call you and hear that you'd bagged a personal best.  This report overall with all of the contributors is awesome.  Al - you have some great photos there.  I love the 2 hour comment - been there!  You'll get better and figure it all out - the main cool thing for me is knowing that you're that stoked to give the report.  Keep 'em coming!

Great job, Guys!   :smt001

Oh, I offered it up but no takers. The red was made into soup by fishmaster and the other ling was crab bait for sc-xfactor.
Once again, great outing. I think we had 8 NCKAers and about 5 other guys. (Not counting the dudes in khakis who showed up at 3 to launch LOL)
Can't wait to get back out there with ya'll.

The left overs were offered to all. I took the smaller ling for crab bait. That big sucker would not fit in my pots. The cheek meat was dug out and looked like jumbo scallops. I get my new stove/oven on wednesday and will be able to handle a large stock pot, next time soup or fish stock. Even with the so so start I have had three great meals. Tonight its ceviche and fish tacos. Last night pan fried ling cot with a meyer lemon sauce.

Surprised, no one has mentioned the big ling's stomach full of kelp.  I really think thats pretty odd, since we were expecting a nice big fish to be inside that big guy.  Anyone seen that before?
