Last year some kids, we think, stole a bunch of stuff from our yaks while we slept 100 feet away, poles, some tackle, I lost a killer paddle that Allen imedietly replaced with a gift of another (Woo-Hoo!)
Anyways, we should be ready for them with an alarm sysem of some kind, something that would scare the sh*t out of them would be very amusing. On film would be priceless.

Fishing line tied to some empty cans is cheap and effective.

Just wheel your yak to your campsite at nite

How about, I sleep in the kayak and when they show up Jump out with a severed pigs head and beat them about the head and shoulders with it. I bet it wouldnt happen again.

Just a heads up......the weather has warmed up and the "locals" have been camping and partying hard at the lake on the weekends. I cleaned up the camp ground yesterday by catching four escaping CDC inmates, so it should be safe.

CHEERS!

While camping up on McCloud reiver arm of Shasta one year we had a motion activated alarm we set up on the tarps we covered the coolers with to warn when a bear came into camp.  This thing, when it went off was muoy abnoxious!  I think it had a string attached to detect movement.  The people we were meeting up there had the alarm, it was battery operated and portable.
Sucks we'll have to worry about theives now!

OK guys I got this figured out we get some of these doodads they have a pin that pulls out and the alarm sounds mount it to the kayak
and have a perimeter line so if something or someone trips the line the alarm will sound

what do you think  :smt007
