Hi guys:

Wel;l a week has gone by and my arm isn't any less broken.

Problem is, my backyard skateramp is not quite done yet.

We sr=tukk need the platforms mounted and the nasonite top surface installed.

Any kayak angler/skater/carpenter types out there willing to spend a day at my pad helping finish up?  I think two guys best, but more would be welcome..... just an idea.....

I am useless, cant really even stand up for more than 20 minutes at a time yet.  perhaps a couple guys fish sc in the morning then come over  and work, then skate, then enjoy dinner?

I can also cover some labor costs.

It's not rocket science but a modicum of skills are needed.  Someone who's built ramps before would be best, but heck, I built this one so far and it's my first.

(I told my wife that NCKA 'ers are nothing if not skilled)

Right now, my son is off the ramp til I can gert it completed and safetied (as much as possible)

Brother Allen,

Before I volunteer, I'd like to let you know that I wouldn't know the diffference between a hammer and a nail :smt011 In fact, the local Home Depot has a big picture of me stuck on every single one of their cash registers with a message below it (in BIG BOLD letters) saying:

"DO NOT SELL THIS MAN ANY TYPE OF TOOL"
But despite my lack of "tool" skill, I make up for it with the fact that I can eat any food you that serve me AND that I have a degree or two on the art and science of just simply hanging around your place, sipping a nice cold blueberry jamba juice....while sitting in your hot tub :smt006  :smt003

Let me know when - I'll be there :smt045

Allen, if it's a weekend that doesn't conflict with anything I've already pre-planned (which is nada except for this weekend), I'm available to help in any way. Besides, I'd be interested to see if, for once, I can navigate Santa Cruz without getting hopelessly lost. I'd also like to see, and maybe photograph, your pets with the forked tongues.

Allen,
I've built a half-pipe back in the day, and have tools.  I can't guarantee anything. I have been very busy, but if things open up for me next week I could spend a half a day and help you out.

You know my number.

I think Joel and I should fish Capitola for some flatties in the am then head over and help out next sunday.

I skate, not very good at it in my late 30's.  I've weenied out a bit after breaking bones and having to go to work the next day and wield a saw and hammer for 8 hours.

Isn't next sunday Mother's Day???  Will your wives be good with that?  I can do either day, its up to you Allen, I really know how it feels to stare at a ramp and not be able to skate it.  John

Thanks hman, that stair was in a 200 house development in Dublin.  Good times back then building stairs in production.  I could put in 3 12 hour days and take 4 days off to chase fish.  Times changed a bit now.

Allen, I'm sure with a couple people we could finish the ramp in a few hours.  laying masonite ain't no thing.  Connecting the decks is simple.  I'm clear for this saturday.  Only thing is the news people talking about all the whales in monterey bay has my girlfriend wanting to go whale watching.  And not on my yak :smt012 its time to shell out the dough for a cattle boat expedition.
