A couple of friends and I went out to Lake Elizabeth with Crappie gear and killed them in a 1/2 hr period. I had four with numerous other hits and the fellows also got hit heavy. Within minuets we had quiet the crowd gathered and wanting to know what we were using for bait.
I keep moving away from the other guys and concentrating on the fishing. A certain population was just horrified that we were catching and releasing some even asking if they could have the fish. I just acted like I didn't speak English :smt044.
We were using plastic crappie jigs with a weighted float and fishing structure from the bank. Frankfishing

I've been told you can yak the lake on weekends. There was no mention of weekdays. I'm usualy out there waking around the lake. Never saw anyone catching anything.

Way to get in some urban guerilla fishing!

I haven't been there in a few years due to the crowds, but I always figured there was something in there besides ducks.

Fremont's web page for that park says rental boats are available on weekends and holidays, April thru Sept, Noon to 5pm.

No mention of prohibiting personal boats (there is a $7 launch fee, or $50 for an annual launch tag) during the week.

No gas motors and you need to bring a life jacket (the usual stuff).

More info at:  http://www.ci.fremont.ca.us/Recreation/Boating/default.htm

Google Maps says it'd take me over a half hour each way to get there so no hitting it over lunch. May have to find an evening to hit it then...

Thanks for the report.
