4/26/08 Petaluma River / Black Point

I had the chance to sneak out for a half day on the water.  Carson and I were in Bodega Bay on Friday and I brought the 'mickfish special' shrimp gun.  We harvested a couple dozen primo ghosties (or 'lobsters' as Carson called them) and some pile worms.

I launched at 7:00 at Blackpoint and fished the river below the railroad trestle till noon.  Only a couple dink stripers to show for it.  LOTS of fish were marked including plenty of sturgeon and several nice sized jumpers were there to torment me, but no love for me or any of the boats that I saw either.

The place looks pretty fishy... the fishfinder was at least as busy as up in Monte's.  Just gotta get em when they are hungry.

I'm surprise more of us aren't fishing Blackpoint considering the number of dino jumpers and drivebys seen by guys like you and Ben.

Yeah... it's definitely a fishy spot, just need to crack the code.
