My question is for the Prowler 15 group and is about scupper plugs witch I have never used before. How much water does a scupper plug keep out of the cockpit and seat area is it 100% or more like 50% I am hoping this is not a stupid question thanks

Thanks Joel don't need them right now I am getting closer to my decision witch yak to upgrade to you wont believe whats on my list yes a Prowler 15 but I still want to test paddle that Malibu X13 and the 160i before I can make the right decision. Some times I thank buying a kayak is worse than buying a car for some people (ME) :smt013 thanks again :smt006.

I hear you brother :smt003 I went through about half a dozen kayaks before I found the one that fit me the most (P-15).

3 things I look for in a fishing kayak:

1. a sleek hull design that cuts through the water (speed and glide)
2. just enough flat deck space to mount a fish finder and and an extra rod holder up front
3. And more imortantly = COMFORT  :smt002

Stabilty was an issue with me in the past but I've learned that stability can be learned and a paddler (even with little experience) can overcome it just by simply paddling the craft more and more. (Just like riding a bike)

Anyway, good luck with your decision - if you want to borrow my T-160 for a weekend, let me know.

Thanks Joel your right on, on your three things to look for in a fishing kayak. Would like to add storage capability to the list. This is why I was asking about the scupper plugs because there is only one thing I could say bad about the P15 and that is it’s a tad bit on the wet side, the foot wells don’t bug me it’s the wet butt that I have a problem with :smt011 if the scupper plugs fix this problem we might have a match  :smt007. Thanks for the offer on your T160 will keep you updated :smt006

Pat R...Seat drain, i have a Trident, seat is high but water shoots up the scuppers in choppy waves. I used a plastic pipe cap, drilled a 3/8 hole through the center, put a ballon through cliped the end off,(one way flapper valve) Water fron splash can drain into the open end of pipe cap then through the ballon, surge up the scupper folds the ballon over..  Works !

Joel I never looked at scupper plugs before didn't know they came in at least 3 sizes what size do I buy for a Venus??
and no I won't be paddling it. :spank
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Venus 10 requires 2 extra small (color green) plugs on the footwells and 2 extra small on the seat wells

Venus 11 = 2 large (red) on the footwells and 2 large in the seat wells

Let me know what you need.

The OK Scupper Plugs actually come in 4 sizes:

Large = red
Medium = Blue
small = yellow
extra small  = green
