I had to give sturgeon another try,

and it appears some fish are still there, but not all that hungry I guess.

Got out of my truck a little after 8am, got back in a little after 5pm. Long ass day.

Fished all the incoming and some of the outgo. Saw two 4-5ft sturgeon jumpers within 50 yds, only marked a couple on the FF all day. There were a ton of what I assume are carp jumping around me all day, say 1 to 3 ft long almost like a cartoon with me sitting there not catching a thing.

I did miss a good pump, and I did later catch a fish as you can see.

beautiful day tho!

Pics,

arrival,
the high point of the day
the fish,
last pic before pulling the anchor.

I'm practicing for that day when I get to post a pic of a keeper

Dale, cute fish!
Maybe you should try different bait - S&W Fruit Cocktail hasn't been the hot ticket lately!  :smt003

Keep putting in the time, Dale.  It'll pay off eventually - whether you catch one or not.   :smt001

Once you get so frustrated that you claim "That's it..I'm never coming back", go one more time.....then you in!

Good luck and bring a book or a radio to hear the game.

CHEERS!

I actually did bring a book, the FF/GPS manual, I figured it'd be a good time to go to know the thing a little better, but I couldn't take my eyes off the rod tip(s) all day long..

I think my inherent laziness shapes my fishing, I like dunking bait, sturgeon, leopards, catfish, and stripers on the anchor.

Unless of course the ocean has something to offer then that's different!!!

The mud that came up with my anchor was full of tiny little clams, which I believe is really the main food source for sturgeon in our area, at least any one I ever cleaned was full of ground up little clam shells.

I've only gone 3 times this year so I haven't really put in my time yet.

Dale-
Thanks for the report and the pics. You might have missed your bump, but you sure put in the saddle time...Keep it up and the fish will come.
