What models did you guys end up getting?  I've got the 7'6" Medium Light Casting Rod.  Combined it with an Abu Revo Inshore and although the pairing looks a little funny, I'm hoping it works like a charm.

If I didn't build my own rods, I would own some Baidarka rods. For the money, I think they are the best value out there.

I will be using that same combo for rockies and it looks and feels like heaven to me. I alsom have the 701m w/ a Torium 20 for yellows and baja.  I also love this combo and it treated me well on the Islander.  Taking a pair of these combos to baja on my grand adventure in June.

An even better value at the recent Mel Cottons sale, 20 percent off (with coupon) and no sales tax

A wise choice Dude!  Two?  that's the way i roll too.
I've got the 701m (won@Elk in raff.) matched with an Avet (the tiny blue one) and it handled that SuckaSlough Sturg. quite well......I saw one at OPS in oakland that was rated 8-12lb.
....is that too light for a Bay/all purpose? what do you think..Eric? striper/halibut

Adam -

I think you could use the 8-12# around the bay and it woul be fine. I fish heavier (12-25#) for hali's because I like the better lifting ability and the heavier line (20#) absorbs the head shakes better.
