Met with Fishunter @ 9 and fished all day for not even a bite. Fish jumping everywhere, fish marks everywhere. Threw everything at them, nada. Adam split at 3, I stuck it out till 7, almost 10 hours on the yak for not even a nibble... But we had lots of giggles anyway, great weather.
BTW hwy 12 is not a place to speed, I got a ticket for 70 in a 55, the guy was cool about it, he let me slide 2 mph off the real reading of 72 to keep me within 15 over the limit, no points after traffic school...
Need that dino for aoty THIS IS MADNESS I TELL YOU MADNESS

Ben-

Like Mama said... "there'd be days like this..." Sucks to hear about the ticket. Pretty painful to hear that the fish were all over the place except by your bait. Keep at it though...

It could be worse. You could be in southern New Mexico with no water or fishing anywhere around with blowing dust storms that make it look like nuclear winter. Lots and lots of AOTY point down here. oh and did I mention the buzz of I.C.E choppers on the prowl all night long with their infra red cameras. I would much rather have no bites all day and a ticket for 130mph in a 50mph. :smt012

Fish jumping everywhere...

You mean dinos jumping everywhere? That must have been cool to see...

I was in the delta one early morning last summer, so many big bass jumping/suspending everywhere around me but no bites regardless of what i threw at them. but it was still awesome seeing them so close.

About that ticket, I would request a "trial by written declaration," basically a trial through the mail (check in the back of the ticket). They'll send you a form that you fill out along with your written defense and send back. I got away 2 times in the past by arguing that 'I was going with the flow of traffic and therefore could not have been speeding.' At 70 in a 55 zone, I think you have a good shot.

One caution though, I am not sure if you would be waiving your rights to attend traffic school by doing this so please check the instructions carefully.

James

With a surf cast rod, a running start, the wind at your back and a little luck you might be able to hit the Sea of Cortez.
Don't forget to get a New Mexico and Mexico fishing license first.
