Got on the water at 7am. Beautiful weather. Took a while to get my 1st fish right as rockfish and his wife pulled up. Got it on a senko. Then the plague of bassboats showed up. Dozens upon dozens of them. Almost all of them a.holes. Casting at me. Running me down. Now i remember why i fish during the week! I got 2 dink bass and one dink striper. I blame the boats for our shotty fishing. We were off the water about noon. It was just too much having 4 bass boats coming within 20 feet at you at the same time. Atleast the wind was near nothing. Pics will be up a little later. Jeff

my back and neck are really hurting, so ,  Maybe see ya later,..

Nice Boat BTW... How much do you think it's Worth?"...

He left as fast as he came............... Jerk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gave him something to think about,  I hope......

Like Jeff said, the weather was great and the fishing poor.  Chryss and I didnt have too much trouble with the boats, but Jeff seemed like a target for sure!!  Seems like the delta speed limit is about 60mph, but only if running with the trim tabs set wrong.  some of those boats couldn't see over their bows, and they were the fastest for sure.

I think i'm going to put the flag on before another weekend out there, maybe that will help a little...

well, I have the smell of skunk about me, so I'm going to have a beer in the yard and watch the birds  :)

Sorry about the PB issues. I have had the same experience in the delta and berryessa. Most PB guys are great, but every once in a while, you will have a day like you had. At least you didn't get flipped like some have.

I usually stay pretty calm, unless I wasn't catching fish. Thats a different story  :smt003

Good work at your spot Jeff.  Those damn PB's think they own the place.  They can runjust about anywhere they want in the delta, and they just gotta run you off you spot...not cool.

Another quality report and another quality NCKA hookup - nice!

Way to go on the consistent reporting, Jeff.

The worst example I have seen is at Lake George in upstate New York. It's full of yahoos from New Jersey and New York City on cigarette boats with their bows way up in the air. To top off their high speed and lack of visibility, half of them are drunk!

I always use a safety flag when I'm out with big boats. In the Santa Cruz area, it's the sailboats that you have to watch out for.

I try not to judge power boaters too quickly, and give them a benefit of the doubt.

Most are fine folks.

But a few are just drunk and power hungry.

That's because they don't have the balls to fish from a quiet kayak.

Having a safety flag on the kayaks increases our chances of not being run over like a manatee.

I'm not against having a nice power boat, I just cant justify the costs at this point in time, and I like the freedom of the kayak from finding boat ramps.  But, there should be a mandatory class on boat driving as part of registration with "on the water" time in the applicants new toy.

At my shop on Humboldt Bay I rent out Kayaks and motorboats. I sweat the guys taking out the boats much more than the Kayakers. If they show up with a cooler or brown paper bag, I send em packing. :smt009 There's a good story in "Deep Trouble" about some guys in kayaks getting run over by a barge on the Hudson.
