Hello NCKA's

Been lurkin around here for a few weeks an thought I oughta introduce myself....anyways been a paddler (sit in expedition boat) and an open water swimmer for along time but gravitatin heavily to the sit on top fishin world...I am in the Monterey Bay, long time resident of  South County Santa Cruz. I am a Phys Ed teacher with (sure to be hated for this but) summers off, so lookin forward to meetin some of you fine people and gettin out on the water. I would like to make it to any camping /fishing events as I camp out of my honda element whenever an where ever possible...I am also an avid recumbent cyclist and I have 3 dogs and 2 grown kids and of course my lovely wife who somehow always supports my ridiculously hobby filled lifestyle....so anyways...Hi!

Welcome!   I find myself unable to keep from hating you - but only because in principle because of those summers off !!  Some of my best fishing has been had down in your neighborhood - I'm sure you'll be hauling in bruisers in no time at all.

  Hey Mark,  Welcome!  It's very nifty that you have Summers off.  I grew up on the Monterey Bay just South of Aptos, and miss the waters there, but not the crowds, so we're happy now in Mendocino.  Our two boys are also grown up.  Your hobbies and Honda Element for camping sound cool. Contact me if you're ever up Mendocino/Fort Bragg way. It's a 6-7 hour drive from you, and very beautiful here.  I kayak, fish, crab, go river crayfishing, and am just getting into free diving; spear and abs.  Anything on or in the water and I'm happy.

Greetings Mark and welcome!
 I'm sure we will meet up on the water as I too live in Santa Cruz (Bonny Doon) and as a fellow teacher have that magic time off in the summer. My son Walker (SlowMo) and I usually fish together, but are always up to sharing the experience, just more fun that way. We have been off on other projects since rockfish season closed but are ready to get back out on the ocean (actually heading to San Diego for the week so the kayaks are out off the shed today) we should make a point of connecting up here soon.

Welcome to the forum.  Don’t hate you for having summers off, kinda feel sorry for you that you have to work 9 months out of the year.  I’m retired, have the whole year off. 

Welcome to the Group!  We will see you on the water as soon as Rock Fishing opens.

Welcome Mark.  I am sure we will meet sometime on the water I am also in Monterey and will be out a lot more this year when rockfish opens.
