I got the 2008-2009 Saltwater Reg book yesterday at the Outdoor Pro Shop in Rohnert Park and found the best fish ID plates I have ever seen in a California reg book. I was very pleased to find that the illustrations were by Amadeo Bachar: NCKA's own ab10.

Thanks Amadeo for the incredible work!

Thanks John, Freddie,
It has pretty much been a childhood dream to be in those reg books, so I feel pretty good about having my art in there. Remember you can't blame me if you get a ticket for keeping a Garibaldi that you thought was a Canary.  :smt005

For those of you who download the regs as pdfs, in my sig line is a download of the plates that John is talking about. They do not come in the normal regulation download.

John

I have done about 100+ of California's salt water fish for the DFG's California Finfish and Shellfish ID Book, which I have copies of if you want one. It has many of smaller fish, but is focused on fish that are sport caught for food and not for bait.  ie. no anchovie, or sardine (although I may be doing a sardine very soon for a group in Monterey.)  I'll post more about the book when I get the link done on my website.

Fish ID books are now available on my site for 10 bucks w/shipping and handling included.  They are in the gear section of the shop.  I am giving away fishing passport books with the purchase of the ID books.  Let me know if you have multiple orders, and I will drop the shipping price down.

Spread the word!

Amadeo,
I got my Cabezon and Vermilion print I ordered from you in the mail, they are beautiful!  :smt007
I liked the sealed packages around them and the enclosed business card, nice touch. I only have one problem, tho . . . now I want more. That will have to wait a while because I have a new 'yak to outfit.  :smt003

Any suggestions on frame style? Thanks.

John

Hey John,
I'm glad you liked them. As far as frames go, there are two that I like right now for the parchment prints.  Images attached.

I also think a dark cherry or mahogany would look good just so long there is not to much red in the stain.

Thanks again,
Amadeo
