Pretty sad, but finally something to report... :smt003
I started work early yesterday to do some fishing in the afternoon.  My co-worker, Jack from Chico wanna take me to his secret spot (sorry he told me not to tell anyone... :smt009) in Lake Oroville.  We finished work by 11am & went to eat.  He realized that he forgot his paddle...  Don't have extra so he decided to go home & get it.  I picked up some minnows on the way & drive there my own.
I got lost but manage to be there by 1pm, & I got nice greet from very cute park service girl!  :smt055  Sun was getting higher & getting warm, so I decided not to wear waders (1st time of this year!). :smt004
Started trolling Daiwa shad and needle fish with flasher & crawler on the another pole.  20 mins passed, I got one nice hit on Daiwa but came off right away (as usual).  then about another 10 mins or so I hooked one small coho.  I was so excited to finally catch a salmon...  :smt045 so kept in my metal stinger.  Then I saw Jack got there & he was paddling towards to me, so I went his way to show my fish.  I pick up stringer to show him & fish came off in the air from the stringer...  :smt073
After that we were just trolling minnow looking lures (Daiwa shads, broken back rapala, etc...) and ended up not using any minnows.  Jack hooked probably four but most of them are pretty small so he only kept one.  His dog was getting his legs tired (yak-lap-dog? :smt001), so he called a quite.  I was getting hits (I don't know how many) but I was only be able to bring up five...  I let two of them go.  One that I intended to keep it but jumped off from the yak, so end up only keeping one 13 inch coho...  The weather was super nice and even had nice breeze for me.  I hated to leave but had long drive home so get out of water around 6pm.
Do I ashamed of 65 pts...!?  a little...  However, my goal for AOTY is to be in top 10 & last year I was 55 pts short :smt010, so this 65 pts is gonna big for me this year too... and also it beats bsteves lowest point ATOY fish ever, so that's kinda cool! :smt002
Here is some pics from yesterday...

Way to go Uminchu, Looked like a beautiful day on the water as well. Guess this means HOLY TOLEDO and I need  to get off our butts and get back on the water. We spent all day Sunday mowing, weedwhacking, shop/garage cleaning..........you know what this means......no more yard work it's bad luck.  Hmmmmmm where to fish?

Good job Naoaki, and you still have plenty of time to upsize.  Now you just need to get that halibut out of the way.  Time to spend more time on the bay.

Naoaki-

Great report... nice fish. The way this year it going, that one may be par for the course size-wise. 65 pts can mean a lot at the end of this thing. Either that or you'll have a record low for a fish entered in the 08AOTY. :smt001

Tight lines,

Freddie

MONSTER! Remember last your there were only like 3 or 4 salmon posted on AOTY, so it could bring a first place.
