Big 'un at Monte's 3/22/08

I hope my wife appreciates the fact that I stayed home this gorgeous weekend to nurse her cold and clean around the house. 

Tis the season for WAF building!  It'll come in handy in a couple months.

Looks like a beast! Thats my next quest is a sturgeon since I finally got my big striper in my yak, then after I get my sturgeon its off to saltwater! It must be an amazing feeling to land something that big in a yak.

Hee Hee... I never really thought of it like that, but that could be a good way to spin it.  I'll make a mental note.

Arms and hands are nice and sore today.  I still can't get over the heft of that fish.  I know they always feel bigger when tail hooked, but even when it wasn't really fighting me, it took everything I had just to hoist it to the surface.  Only wish I could have had a better look at it.

Now all I need is one in the slot... next time.

Way to take it to her EK. There are some telephone pole sized logs in that slough. I hooked into one last year that I barely got a glimpse of and that was all she wrote. Time to hit the slough again.

Meet up with Sonny and Erik at around 2 pm to hear  about this incredible sleigh ride first hand from Erik. Boy was Erik fired up about this latest hookup. Seemed to me that KZ was taken for one hell of a ride. My adreline started pumping with KZ just sharing his incounter of this epic hookup. Soon after Erik took off and Sonny a I waited for the tide change for a chance at something similar to Erics. Here is what I caught a couple of hours later.
 
Not quit what I was hoping for but still felt good to get a couple of bites.
Sonny thanks for the chow and hope to hookup again soon with the two of you. Oh yeah the candy was excellent Erik.... Frankfishing

arrrrg!  that place is gettin on my last nerve! .....and it's got to be wearing on yours too!  That would have sent me to the shore crying and babbling like a baby..... I would have held onto it as long as the sun was shinning and that fullmoon would have kept my hopes up for a while too!...but oversized is oversized and ultimately would have been cut loose.....doing so without seeing the intire beast though....I'm feeling your pain brother.

I spent Sunday there, listening to 2 pb'rs get there catch on!...right down where your talking about.....that makes TWICE, I've been able to listen in on ALL THE FUN and JOY of others catchin them.

Here's my salute to that bridge and its' F%^king SLOUGH!
