A very interesting note. It is exactly 100 miles from my house to Williams California.
I found this out on my way to Clear Lake this evening.
After driving 100 miles, especially after working all day, I was hungry. A burger sounded pretty good.
The thought of that tasty burger immediately turned to rage and disappointment as I realized my WALLET was 100 miles away.
Didn't have enough cash to pay for gas to Clear Lake and back home so I had to turn around. I pretty much lost mt appetite as well so the few dollars I did have in my vehicle went untouched.
I just got home and I am headed to bed about as pissed as can be.
Looks like I will be relegated to one of the local lakes tomorrow. :smt013 :smt013 :smt010

Ouch!  Sorry, Mike - major bummer.  Time to start the "it was fate" type thinking - like, yeah, you probably would've been broadsided by a mack truck if you'd not turned back then!   :smt009

Tell you what, brother - that happens in my neighborhood to you or other NCKA bro's that I've met I'm gonna be pissed if you don't allow me to float your weekend until we can even it up later.   :smt001

Thought about that but not everyone has an extra $80 sitting in their wallet. $60 gas and $20 bait/food. And then I thought, " what if they didn't make it up there for some reason?"
I would have been screwed. Then again I could have called them first..except their #'s were in my WALLET.. Ugh.

Major bummer indeed. But the fish weren't biting today anyway. (Note: don't know this at all but trying to make things better) And at least you had enough gas to get back home.

Maybe we need an NCKA phone tree with a bunch of our numbers to so we might be able to help a brotha out in these situations. But then again, Williams is a long way from everywhere.

Hope yo catch a monster next time out.

WILLIAMS, Calif. - A violent chemical reaction sent a cloud of orange smoke into the sky Friday evening, forcing 40 families to be evacuated for several hours in Colusa County. Some farm workers mixed 800 gallons of organic fertalizer with 1,700 gallons of phosphoric acid at about 6 p.m., officials said.

The reaction initially sent a chemical cloud shooting 40 feet into the air near East Camp and Pumphouse roads.

Eventually, a three-mile cloud was left lingering in the sky.

A hazmat team from Sutter County and the Colusa County sheriff were at the scene Friday night.

Some first responders got nauseous and starting vomiting. They also complained of headaches.

I saw that from a distance and was wondering why there was so much 'smog' in that area.
Hope Sly Park produces today.

That sucks Mike Ditto what Erik said, I have done that a few times I wear fleece on trips and leave my jeans at home so I always keep a buncha change in the truck for gate and tolls and a Cardlock Gas Card in the Glove Box.

Dude! That blows! I just hope that when you slept last night you didn't have one of those dreams where someone was chasing you and you couldn't run.

I HATE it when that happens. One year in a caravan on the way to Burningman, one of our buds discovered he left his ticket at home when we pulled into Empire NV, 15 miles or so from BM and a 10 hr ride back home. He's lucky he had his own car.

:BangHead:  I can only imagine how lousy that drive home must have been.  Hope you have a trip in your near future that makes up for it!
