OTW @ noon, glassy incoming tide so I trolled a rap x in between 20 min anchor soakings, eventualy making it even with the blinds and in front of the big barge, a pretty good ways out, getting a dink on the way. No action on the bottom. Well just at the turn o the tides, this freaking wind comes up out of the west and damn it was wave-game on! Took an hour getting back, lots of water coming over the side, reminded me of the ocean. I managed to troll the first part back, till I caught another dink, but gave up cause by the time I was done dealing with the C and R, I was heading OUT.......The wind/waves were just RIPPING past Rat Rock, I had to hide in the lee for a bit, then blast the last 100 feet and hug the rocks the rest of the way. Came up out of nowhere, glass to squall. Fun!

the out going tide and wind can be fierce there.  i remember one time it particular, i had to wrap my legs around the kayak to keep from rolling a few times (pre X factor days).

YAH BABY!!!

Stripers on the troll!  The water sure does look clear enough (and the "rumors" abound).  Let's hope this is a good start to a banner spring run.  I know all you nay-sayers will say that its over, but i don't believe it ( it won't be like in the 70s when i was a kid at Ocean Beach perhaps), but I'm betting they're still gonna go off.
