I have a delux and love it. If I want the fish to last a looong time, I first freeze it overnight and put a jug of water in the fridge overnight, then dip the frozen fillets in the water 10 or so times- it freezes in a few seconds, then vacume pack it, it puts a glaze on it that makes it last at least 6 months with zero burn.
I also use the canisters to vacume-brine fish for the smoker, instead of 24 hrs, its works in a couple, or if you want super-candy, leave it for a couple of days and DAMN!

We have a food saver as well, and use it for everything to include: Lettuce (stays fresh and doesn't go to mush), bread, we even buy canning jars and store our dry goods in mason jars, place the jar inside a vaccume seal container, turn it on, and when you release the vacume it pops the lid closed nice and tight.  The big containers are good for a lot of things besides what you think, you can also marinate as well.  My GF sent me all sorts of stuff when I was in Iraq, jerky she makes at home, as chili and other soups she dehydrated.  She also sent me some certain other things GI's can't get easily like Kentucky "Tea," she would switch out with arizona tea then seal the bottle in a bag.

If you use the food saver bag system you can reseal them over and over again until they get to small to use.  I have been e-baying for some more containers.  I see they have some as big as 6 quarts, that is pretty hefty.
