Clear Lake   2/29 - 3/1   year of the spider

2/29 coditions are perfect. Glassy, 10+ vis, and the water is warming. We spotted alot of fish in 2' as well as 10' of water. Nothing huge but alot of stout males that were looking for territory to do the deed. Still finding alot of fish with bloodied mouths but I STILL havnt been able to take victims on the cawjigs, yet. Sightfishing was excellent and the senko bite was on. It was so nice to witness again a big senko flutter down onto the rocks then watch a healthy bass cruise over and pick it up. never gets old. Most fish were taken with the supersize senko in the usual greenpumpkin/red flake or smoke/red flake I also worked the ripbait and a small swimbait with no success. The super agents took alot of fish ,as usual this time of year, but it doesnt even come close to the fun of taking victims with artificials.  Seeing so many friends ,old and new, enjoying my usual haunts made me feel like the proud papa. thanks gang.

But the clear lady is moody.

3/1
conditions are not perfect. big chop/cold winds, horrible viz, and that water was more suited for hockey than bassin. A few of us got way back into haunts1 on friday and witnessed hordes o bass, but the same spots on saturday were now empty. We took a few fish off the ledge at Borenbega but it was still obvious that friday was just a tease and the fish have re hunkered. Fishhunter ChuckE and Myself, braved the chop and paddled over to the northend of Konocti bay and worked the point and some docks where Adam nabbed a few more.We headed in, had lunch, and called it a day, with the plan of doing it again soon.
Im just about to head home and Scwafish shows up with the secret weapon. How could I resist that smile? Unloaded and back into it.
Witnessing that catch was more fun than all of the bass I had taken over the last few days put together. Thanks Paige!

Weather is rumored to be warm this week and with what I saw on friday its clear that its time to move into the northern waters of c-lake. very exciting

The pictured fish is better than average size, but all of the fish are bringing alot of power. I was continually thinking I had a much larger fish on than what ended up at the boat.

I was in awe of Spiderman and his Senko Skillz.  Terry was catching just as many fish on his Senkos as we were with agents.  I think we all tried throwing the same Senkos, but with little or no success.

Mr. Gary Yamamoto if you're out there reading this.... you need to hook-up this man with a lifetime supply of your product, wrap his little kayak with all of your sponsor glitter, and enter him in the Bass Masters so he can go kick some arrogant-Ranger-boat-driving ass!
