If you are bored by dino fishing and still want to give it a shot, fish the delta where you can use 2 rods. Then you have a lot of options to keep you busy.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

If this rule applied to the Bay then I MAY consider fishing for sturgeon again :smt002

Yes... I agree sturgeon fishing is usually slow and boring, but sometimes that's exactly what I need especially on an nice calm day.  Going with friends and bringing food and drink can help too.

Sturgeon fishing is like big game hunting.  You can go out many times, stalk many miles, or spend countless hours sitting still in a tree stand and never see a big buck, but when you finally shoot one, it's a major rush and you've got lots of good meat to share and fill the freezer.

Fishing for stripers, trout, or bass is more like small game hunting.  When hunting ducks or doves, there's usually a lot more action to keep you busy.

Big or small game..... I love it all!!!!

That's a fact!

I just know how much you love to fish and it doesn't matter whether you're fishing for perch, striper, halibut, salmon, sturgeon, albacore, or marlin.

This sounds like a good case for a waterproof Ipod case and speakers and a good book on tape.  That's how I've changed my 45 miles each-way commute into a tolerable experience...

Chuck,

The different between hunting and fishing is you can see when the ducks or deer are not moving and go back to camp or the duck club.  Fishing, you got a fish finder and can see fish at noon or 3 pm and you don't know if they will bite.

Hunting there is more skill than point and shoot.  Learning leads, identifty the game, know how long of a shot it is, shoot uphill or downhill, ect......Fishing there is more luck than skill.
