Well every day at the Quarry for me is an adventure!!!!!!! Coming around the top of the lake whom do i see Ken (kickfish) soaking trout bait.Said he had caught a couple. After a hello and conversation i proceded to troll here and there around the lake hooking up with 4 smallish planter trout using rapala J9 BB in fire tiger and silver/black. In the afternoon said goodbye to to Kickfish. Continued trolling hooking up with my 5th fish of the day a 5lber. While removing trebles from fish one got lodged in my right index finger tip and the net.(ouch)Located my heavy duty dikes with the help of a couple of fellow boaters and proceded to cut hook and rotate out of my finger. Lesson learned there will always be a pair of heavy duty wire cutters avalable in my boat.Other wise just another day at the Quarry

Ya, done that one,  had a nice 3lbder by the boat, was even going to let it go, F@!@# jumps and

and lands in my lap firmly planting one of the treble hooks deep into my hand.

Kill the fish, get the hook off the lure and then drop my pliers in to San Pablo Reservoir :smt013.

Pedal ( Thank God ) back to the launch and use my Gerber Multi tool, which is a awful choice

because the cutting part is recessed. Took about a half hour and finally snapped the hook and passed it

 through.  Ouch :smt010

Raymac,

I got 3 small trout on green powerbait.  Had rainbow powerbait and it did noting. 12"to 14" DFG plants.  The 2 you gave me were 15" & 16"  (Lassen). It  was just good to get on the water.  A few things, I like about Quarry....no power boats...tiny lake...big planters (most times) and I been goose-egg there 2 times.  After, 2 to 3 years of going there.  You troll in a yak...it is far and wide between hits, there.

Downside....no beer, no lead weights, No Lap Dances (except for the ones you get from the fishes :smt002) and no trees.  Lots of wind because it is so flat.

There was a park police there checking for lic. and fishing permit.  The most I heard from the landlock guys were 2 trout.  The lake is full of water.

Is there a lake where you CAN get a lapdance from something other than a fish?!  That would take some serious WAF... :smt044

While removing trebles from fish one got lodged in my right index finger tip and the net.(ouch)Located my heavy duty dikes with the help of a couple of fellow boaters and proceded to cut hook and rotate out of my finger.

I did something similar back in early January.  I was near the dam at Del Valle and turned around to put a rod in its holder when the rod slipped through my fingers right into the holder.  Unfortunately the treble from the diawa lure slid deep into the tip of my ring finger.  It was nearing the end of the day and very few boats were around.  That and I didn't have a pair of dikes to I just grabbed my needle nose and pulled it out the way it went it, barb and all.  I will admit, although not painless, it hurt far less than I expected.  Definitely not pleasant.  I tried to milk it for sympathy when I got home but there was hardly a hole.

BTW, nice job on the fish catching Raymac.  Way to slay as usual.  Here's to keeping trebles out of our fingers in the future. :occasion14:

Nice trout raymac :smt004

I just know that it's going to happen to me some day (treble in the finger). I should start packing some dikes.

Down in San Diego and LA they have boats (charters) that take guys out with strippers (NOT Stripers).  The guys are in the cabin or bunks...more than on the deck.  Gives a New Meaning to "Hook Up".

Up here there was one boat with girls in swimsuits. :smt007

WTG on the trout Ray... reading this post I could only think about one thing... it's only a matter of time before Melissa does the same thing. Hopefully, she'll listen to me when she unhooks a fish. Because if she doesn't... she'll be crying... and possibly, I'll be laughing as I pull a hook out of her finger.
