Duane I heard that there was a herring spawn on the rocks of this jetty and a few fish were caught Sat. off shore. I don't know if you can anchor or launch there.

I fished off that jetty thing a few years ago, but they have fenced it off. I'm not sure if you can park by that beach area. you used to be able to park by the jetty, but even if you could park there, it would be a bit of a haul.

Again,  anyone other than me heard something of the RAW SEWAGE spills from San Quintin? :smt078

I'm not sure where you would launch there,  but there is a fast moving channel that flows just on the

west side where the bridge meets the rocks, most the birds I saw on Saturday where on the Marin gun

club side, good luck

I agree with Danglin, I don't think you will be able to launch south of the bridge (Main Street) with the increased security around the Prison property. A good spot to fish has always been on the south side (outgoing tide) of the bridge approximately where the roadway rises 30 Ft above your head. Back in the day the area between the bridge and paradise used to be the go to spot for Sturgeon. For some reason the area just does not draw the interest of Sturgeon chasers like it used to. I also have heard stories of raw sewage releases from the Prison. GOOD LUCK, hope you get one.

confirmed that you are no longer able to park near the jetty.  Only 1 hour parking, used to be 7 or 8 spots you could park all day there.  not anymore.  Rod and gun club is best, or if you want a longer paddle, can launch from loch lomond.  Don't forget to hit up the pilings, they've got perch tucked in there could make for potential live haliBAIT (in season).

I fished from shore there once or twice. My recollection is that there is a nice little beach that you could launch from but the parking on the street is for a limited period, like maybe one hour, so you have to park somewhere else. I remember there were some marginal parking places in a small vacant lot sort of place up the street from the beach. It's been at least 2 years since I was there though.

what we typically do when launching from the san quentin dog beach is pull into the condo parking lot, unload, then park on the street (short parking now), then its just a shortish carry downhill to the beach.

great striper fishing from this area a bit later in the year....

this is the spot that I was going to launch at but my truck transmission is slipping more and more
each day, so I will have to keep it close to home  :smt010 I think I will just launch at the rockwall
paddle out 3MI to the channel fish for sturgeon for awhile then go see if I can get some perch at the wall  :smt007
thank for all the info peace out.

yep-- great launch...watch the mud at .5 feet.  there is a nice cut close to the bridge/shore on the N side, and then a wide cut that runs parallel to the bridge on the S side-- my fav stripers spots on incoming and outgoing
