never cooked any surf perch any tips and or ideas? Or something simple?

This one real easy...one part soy sauce...one part water...one part sugar...a little ginger...salt to taste.. You need enough liguid to cover the fish or atleast half of the fish. Gut, scale and cut vertical lines maybe 1/2 in. apart in the side of the fish.  This is to let the sauce get into the meat.  This is in a frying pan.  Cover until the fish is white on one side and then flip over.  Get some hot rice and you are done.

My dad used to fillet them, then poach the fillets in green enchilada sauce.
Back around 1998 I subsisted off perch for a few months when I lived down near Gaviota, and always liked them this way. I sometimes served the fillets over rice, sometimes I made soft tacos with them.
