Me, SS Permission and my buddy Dave woke up ree-dick-you-lussly early and made a run to the north for seeking steel in Stealth Cr. #33471.  After a long drive, and a LONG hike we were catching a whole lotta nothing in gorgeous country.

Dave sees a TINY little eddy at the top of a big fast run and says..."somebody's gotta be resting in here".  A short 15 foot cast..a shorter drift...and blAMMmmmo!!!  FISH ON!

This wild buck shoots out of the air and starts cartwheeling.  I dump my backpack and start looking for the Optio.  After a good battle Dave backs it into an eddy to land it...NOT.  This fish is not ready!!!

Watch this vid for the rest of the story!

Spectacular footage!.... I bet that'll get thousands of YouTube views.

That was hilarious to see Dave fall... but all that matters is he landed that beautiful steelie.  Falling during the exciting chase is something I would expect to happen to me. :smt005

Sean, isn't that Dave from our '06 Rancho Leonero trip?  Good to see that fish slayer again.

You guys suck! Thats a pretty fun river.  Beautiful and lots of wild steelies.  Next time please give me a call, I would have loved to join in.  I can get any day off, in fact they want me to take a few days off.  I need a break from counting them, I want to fish!

Sweet battle Dave!  Great camera work Sean, gotta love the team effort on that one!

Great video Sean, funny too.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

First time I have ever seen someone track down a fish.

With steelhead or salmon in a river, its what you have to do.  Once they get in a strong current its "see you later".  To make it all just a little more exciting Dave had almost no line on his reel.   He got a huge birdsnest first thing in the AM and had to cut out a bunch of line.
