Nope I've caught quite a few Dino's from my PB just haven't hooked up in a Kayak.
If I need any help I ask our resident expert Erik, I think reading his article gives you most of the info you need. I'd rather spend my time fishing.

Well, it looks like I have been given a couple hours furlough and I am going to spend it wisely.  Just called the bait shop at Loch Lomand and spoke to the "Coach" and he has earmarked a couple of tickets for us. Meeting up with Rory in Cotati. Hope to see a few NCKA'ers there.      Allen

My daughter is going to Russia for 4 months, leaving Wed. so Monday will be a day of prep. I'm thinking of Tuesday.
Never fished out of Cuttings but it looks like not much of a paddle. the tides are pretty good, with the muddy water it will be bait. 1 rod with Ghosties 1 with mudsuckers or bullheads. I'm thinking of  launching at O Dark 30 and fish to noon or so.

FYI - My dad caught a ~10lb striper and hooked & eventually lost one that he estimated closer to twenty pounds after it went airborn and shook the small hook he was using to catch schoolies.

Both caught from shore on small pieces of frozen anchovy.

Pops likes to go out there and catch the schoolies on light gear and ended up getting schooled!

Hey Mickfish,

I drove out there a couple of weeks ago to do some recon. Lived here my whole life and have never been to or fished the Napa River. I drove to the end of Milton Rd. and it all looked like private property with no river access (especially a yak, steep slough banks). The Marina on Milton Rd looked to be more of a private Boat building/repair yard. I was there in the middle of the day and the "office" was closed up tight and couldn't find anyone around to ask questions.

The area south of the public Cutting Wharf ramp is a private property pay to fish area.

Cutting Wharf itself looked like a great facility. Public access, new ramp and docks and free parking. I say free because there was no kiosk or signage regarding parking fees.

I plan on launching at Cutting Wharf sometime in the near future, Just don't know where to go and fish.

Matt

Sorry, Mike, I have no idea.

I've never been there, just flew past it on the river once...lol.

Captain Matt, :smt006 When you decide to go on the Napa, let me know. Many years ago I was fishing on a PB, and caught a nice sturgeon in that area just south of Milton Rd. It is a deep hole and has a small river coming in from the west. (Nice feeder stream) But like I said, it was a long time ago, (About 20 yrs.) SOOOOO, let's hook and do it sometime.  :fish
