If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Good job Naoaki! You did some "Zen" fishing and it paid off. It's nice to catch something in between being cold, miserable, and alone. :smt002

Sometimes when you get to a spot and you're waiting for everyone else and no one shows you just think about packing it up and heading home. Freakin good on you for keeping w/ the plan and freking hitting the homerun! :smt002 You definitely get the title of "Piscus Gitrdunus". (page 21 of the current issue of thisisfly.com)

Big time congrats buddy, awesome dino!

Congrats Naoaki.  Seems like you're getting a lot of fishing in while Jim is away.  Don't you have work to do?

I can't believe all the sturgeon on the AOTY board already this year.

That reminds me, I need a sturgeon for my NWKA AOTY... hmmm.  Naoaki, can I borrow your snare now that you're done with it?

Thanks guys!
I fished my b-day there too but didn't get anything, anything at all (not even a nibble)... then saw Melissa got hers at OAP...

Lucky you. You get the monkey (dino) off your back early in the year. How long was it? Must be room for an upgrade. Melissa's dino looked much larger.
Howard
yeah, her sturgeon is much bigger but I'm totally happy w/ what I got!

Sorry guys, sturgeon points going down to 1/2 point per inch because they're too easy to catch!   :smt002
Good job, UN.   :smt001
easy...?  It took me only 4th try on the yak, but I fished from the shore, PBs, even took sturgeon charter boat once.  That was the one & only "tap tap" that I had (1st hit & 1st sturgeon)... :smt002
I was there all by myself.  The sturgeon was pretty skinny but was fighting against the rip current also.  It took me about 20 mins to bring next to my boat, then I didn't know what I was doing w/ the snare thing, so it took me another 15 mins or so to bring up.  Each time the fish got to the side of the boat, the current push the boat down little and the yak started taking some water.  I have to lose my anchor...  I was so scared... :smt010 but well worth it tho!

I try to take the fishhunter pose, but it was very hard...
Some PB guy had a huge boat (probably 28') & truck took the picture for me.  He was laughing about it only took the tiny boat to catch the big one & asked me how I'm gonna take it home w/ my tiny car...  priceless... :smt002

and Jack & Adam, your turn next! :smt006

I don't catch a big fish.  The sturgeon was probably the biggest fish I've ever caught.  I'm glad that it was from the yak!  Come to think about it the sturgeon was the 1st fish of this year for me, despite fact that I've already been out the lakes, rivers, & delta...  hopefully, it's gonna be good now on!

Is that a late b-day gift for me Naoaki? I'll give you my password so you can put it in my AOTY.
Congratulations!
CHEERS!
thanks, Dan!  & 07 AOTY all over again... :smt056

It was a holiday, Brian! :smt110
of course, you can borrow the snare (actually, I have two of them), but does OR have a good sturgeon fishing or CA counts?
